Iran



Iran is a country of the most welcoming in the world, people very friendly and ready to help. Travelling by bus is very easy and cheap. Buses are good, even the simple. The downside it's that the bus finish in the road, otside the cities (not in the bus station), we have take taxis always after the bus. Taxis it's as in all countries- Be careful not to be fooled.

Day 1


Arrival Airport , taxi to Qom and Kashan Bus up Arrival at the airport in Tehran. Do your VISA in Embassy of Iran in your country or formalities of visa on arrival (VOA visa on arrival) .


Take the taxi to the holy city of Qom and visit:


- Mausoleum of Fatima al- Masumeh .
- Holy of Jamkaran Mosque (but needs to get Iran to go with you) .
- Qom Market.


There is no direct bus from the airport paa Qom, you have to go to Tehran and then take a bus to Qom. We went by taxi.


Take in the road, the bus to Kashan . The people help. Beware of the taxi drivers to exit the bus, we were cheated by a taxi driver who was combined with the bus driver.




Start your visit in Kashan , with the remaining time.


Stay at night: Noghli House or Golestan Inn Hostel or Khan- e- Ehsan Guest House








 



Day 2


Visit Khashan all the day, it's beautiful :


- Bagh-e Fin Garden ( UNESCO)
- Khan- and - Borujedi
- Masjed-e Agha Mosque Borzog
- Khan and Amerilha


We walk around Khashan and to Fin Garden, and then we take the public bus to the hotel.

Day 3



Take a tour to Abyaneh Village (77 Km - 1 hour ) and visit : Abyaneh Village and take the same tour from Abyaneh to Isfahan ( 180 km - 2 hours)



The way pass the undergroung city of Nushabad . It's worth the visit.
 


The tour it's cheaper then the táxi. There aren't public bus to Abyaneh Village.

Day 4


This will one city UNESCO - World Heritage Site. The heart of Persian history are here .


- Si -o- seh Pol Bridge, Fantastic
- Imam Square where there is                
                    - Imam Mosque ( Masjed-e Shah / Masjed - e Imam Mosque )          
                    - Mosque Masjed-e Sheikh Lotf Allah ,
                    - Kakh and Chehel Sotun ,
                    - Kakh Palace Ali Qapu ,
                    - Masjed-e Jameh ,

Day 5


There are many monuments and places to visit in Isfahan . On this day wander again by Imam Square


- Vank Cathedral ,
- Isfahan Bazaar .


Take the night bus to Shiraz .

 
 
 


Day 6


Shiraz is one of the most popular destinios to visit in Iran.


- Fortaleza Arg -e Karim Khan ,
- Masjed-e Vakil ,
- Bazaar -e Vakil ,
- Aramgah -e Shah-e Cheragh ,
- Bazar -e Nou.

Day 7


Day to visit various historical sites around Shiraz . Take a bus to Persepolis. At the hostel helped us with directions to take the bus to Persepolis . The bus does not get to Persepolis , then you need to take a shared taxi , it is not difficult , since the bus there are always people towards Persepolis .


- Persepolis, dating from the centuries around 515 BC, was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire.


Then you need take a taxi to both places, and return to Shiraz:


- Naqsh-e Khostam which is a spectacular site that dates from the time of the Achaemenid kings. Here in this mountain we have the tombs of Darius I of Persia, Xerxes I, Artaxerxes I and Darius II , all carved in stone.


- Pasargadae , UNESCO site was the capital of the Empire of Cyrus II of Persia.

Day 8


Another day in Shiraz .


- Tomb of Hafez poet ( Aramgah and Sa'di )
- Imamzadeh -ye Mausoleum Ali Ebn -e Hamze
- Melli Park ( Bagh-e were )
- Masjed-e Nasir -al- Molk
- Nazar Garden
- Museum Pars .


Take the night bus to Kerman . In Kerman take bus to Rayen.



 

Day 9


Visit Rayen Castle.


Then take the taxi to Bam.


Arrive in Bam and visit:


 - Fortaleza Arg -e Bam . Despite being very destroyed because of the 2003 earthquake , there are still local standing and others that have been fully restored since taking the old way .
- Downtown
- Bazaar.

Day 10


Take bus to Kerman . In Kerman take taxi to visit Mahan
- Shazdeh Garden
- Aramgah - e- Shah Vali mosque Ne'matollah


Night bus Kerman to Yazd .

Day 11


Fantastic city with lots to see .


- Amir Chakhmaq Complex ( 7:30 am - 2:30 pm Sat - Thu )
- Bazaar,
- Jameh Mosque of the twelfth century ( Masjed-e Jameh )
- Bagh-e Dolat Abad Garden ,
- Water Museum
- Downtown.

Day 12


Take a taxi to take you to all sites . Taxi drivers are boring , are always in a hurry . our end asked us more money than agreed, but we did not give him .


- Kharanaq is an ancient village all made of clay where the historic center is totally abandoned, have been very beautiful valley views.


- Chak Chak is the holiest shrines for the Zoroastrian religion. Inside the Temple of Fire on the mountain there is a rock pinecone said holy water .


- Meybod can visit the             
                   - Ancient caravanserai ,
                   - Tower of the pigeons ,
                   - Ice tower
                   - Fortress,     
                   - Former post office .

Day 13


- Towers of Silence
- Fire Temple,
- Alexander's Prison ,
- Former Zone .


This is one of the most beautiful Iranian cities .

Day 14


- Golestan Palace ,
- Begh - e Melli Complex
- Niyavaran Palace Museum

Take the metro to airport.


And thus ended our 2 week trip.




Warning:


You need to take any money with you, because the ATMs of Iran is not possible to withdraw money with foreign cards .



Cost:


The entire trip cost us € 1,500 for both, ie € 750 per person, included the flights with departure from Faro - Portugal .
